Research proves that meditation and mindfulness are extremely effective in reducing stress and physical pain, coping with addiction, dealing with negative emotions, cultivating positive emotions, improving focus, and boosting neuroplasticity – the brain’s ability to change.
Our objective for the healthcare professional is two-fold: By learning how to teach meditation, they acquire tools both to better deal with the pressures of their jobs and to implement with their patients. The psychologist, nurse, counselor, or social worker may speak with greater clarity, listen with greater empathy, have new insight into conflict resolution, and teach their patients ways of dealing with anxiety and depression, while avoiding their own secondary trauma or fatigue.
